Senior Accountant
The Senior Accountant role is designed for an experienced professional who is ready for the next step in their accounting career. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, meticulous and enthusiastic with a can-do attitude. This position is responsible for handling complex accrual-based accounting tasks for multiple clients, requiring minimal direction from Controllers. The Senior Accountant must possess strong analytical skills, excellent technical knowledge, and the ability to deliver accurate and timely results. A person in this role is comfortable using relevant knowledge, know-how and skills to convey clear and concise thoughts and ideas to clients and internal teams, both in written format and during virtual meetings. Adaptability is key to thriving in this fast-paced environment, as the role demands responsiveness to changing expectations and processes to provide exceptional value to clients.
Responsibilities:
- Daily accounts payable, accounts receivable/invoicing and banking for multiple clients, as required
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of daily transactions
- Posting of journal entries to balance sheet and income statement based upon predetermined methods and routines
- Update balance sheet accounts, including weekly and monthly reconciliations
- Conduct daily posting and/or downloads for bank accounts/credit cards, as required
- Process client payroll with 3rd party vendor
- Successfully use, monitor and review any 3rd party applications per client request/requirements
- Review and process monthly and/or quarterly sales and use tax, as required
- Reconcile quarterly payroll filings with the general ledger
- Review and manage month end close process
- Occasional special projects as requested
- Lead client calls to provide high emphasis on customer service
- Supports budget and forecasting activities
Qualifications - Accounting:
- 3-5 years performing full charge bookkeeping
- 3-5 years using QuickBooks Online
- Working knowledge of prepaids, accruals, and deferred revenue
- Experience with 3rd party applications like Bill.com, ADP, Gusto, Dropbox
- Knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles
Qualifications - Professional Skills:
- Exceptional attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to interact with various levels of management, staff and clients internally and externally
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Spreadsheets including formulas
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple clients simultaneously
- Strong work ethic
- Strong problem solving skills
- Must be decisive and work well with a deadline driven environment
- Confident in one's abilities and able to work independently, with minimal direction
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Exceptional written English
